Product Information and Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. What
is MyTankGauge?
MyTankGauge is an affordable
solution for making gas station inventory and compliance information
available from the web. MyTankGauge has a solution for your existing
equipment that provides you with web-based fuel and compliance management.
We turn the Automatic Tank Gauges that
are present in nearly every gas station into Internet enabled devices.
MyTankGauge allows you to:
- Monitor in-tank inventory in near real-time
- Be notified automatically when an alarm occurs via e-mail and/or
pager
- Clear alarms from the web
- Eliminate keeping leak test result printouts at the station.
We archive the leak test results and keep an exact copy of all
of the information that is contained on the printout. You can
view and print these results from the web.
- Make Compliance Forms available from the web. Any forms that
are required to be kept on file can be stored and made easily
accessible from the website. Examples of forms that can be kept
on file for you include: Annual Monitoring System Certification
Forms; UST Monitoring Site Plan Forms; Unauthorized Release Forms;
etc.

3. Which MyTankGauge Product
is the best?
This depends on what equipment you already
have at your site. We will work around your existing equipment to
help you meet your needs with minimal expenses.
We recommend our products in the following order if you can meet
the requirements for the product.
- MyTankGauge iPort if you have an ATGS with an RS232 port, and
a shared phone line.
- MyTankGauge Poll Service if you have an ATGS with a FaxModem
and a dedicated phone line or a phone line with a switch box**
on it.
- *Shared phone line - MyTankGauge uses the phone for about
a minute each time it dials out. Dial out times can be specified
from one minute to once a day depending on how up-to-date you
want your information and how often you want your phone tied up.
**Switch box - This is a small box that determines if an
incoming call is a voice or data call. If you have a switch box
installed, when MyTankGauge calls you, the switch box will direct
the call to your ATGS and your phone will not ring. If a regular
call comes in, the switch box will direct the call to your phone.
Each product has specific advantages and specific
requirements. However, regardless of the product that is selected,
the end result will be the same - affordable web-based fuel and
compliance management.

8. Who
has access to my site information?
You determine who has access
to your site data. For example, you can allow limited access to
your dispatcher so that he can monitor in-tank product and know
when he needs to make a delivery. Or, you could allow limited access
to your maintenance company and have them alerted automatically
when an alarm occurs.
The system is very flexible
and can be customized by you. You can give access to one user for
one site, 100 users for one site, or one user for 1000 sites. In
other words, any configuration is possible. Each company will have
an administrator in charge of assigning user ID's and passwords.
Your administrator can add and remove users from this website in
whatever way suits your company's needs.

9. How
can I be sure that my data is secure?
Our site is operated on a
secure server and your data is in a secure database. We are using
the latest technologies in database and web security, however, it
will be important for your administrator to use his/her best discretion
in assigning user ID's and passwords. If a question or problem every
does arise, we do keep an access log that provides us with information
regarding who and when the site was accessed. Also, our database
and website is backed up no less than every 24 hours.

Not very much. Typically,
MyTankGauge takes about 1 minute to send its information. This means

11. How
up-to-date will my Station's information be?
Information can be updated
as often as every hour. There is no extra cost for having your information
updated hourly, it is simply up to you how often you want your information
posted. With the Poll Service you can also do an instant poll and
have the information updated within a couple minutes after you request
it.
